The "Yerevan Marathon" is one of the much-awaited and joyous events which takes place in Yerevan every year in October. The race starts from Republic Square and passes through the central streets of the capital. There are usually several race runways of different lengths (from 1 to 42 km). The winners receive medals and awards.
