Gata is an Armenian national pastry. The dough of gata is made with flour, butter and yogurt, and stuffed with the mixture of butter and sugar. There are many varieties of gata in Armenia that you can get to know and even taste at the Gata Festival.
Every year the biggest gata is prepared for the festival which is later shared with the guests. The festival is accompanied by traditional music and dances and much more to see and experience.
A handicraft fair also takes place which offers a wide variety of items.
