Gata is very tasty traditional Armenian sweet which has an interesting and unusual making process. It has a pie shape but differs from the structure of an ordinary pie. Each region in Armenia has its unique way of making this sweet. It can have different shapes, sizes, and decorations. Gata can be made with khoriz, nuts, or walnuts.
During the "Gata Festival, 2017" two meters long delicious gata was presented. Currently, it is registered in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's largest gata.
This year, the festival will take place on September 22 from 13:00 to 17:00 in Khachik village. Villagers say they are planning to make larger gata than they made in 2017.
