Tap Fortress, also known as Gevorg Marzpetuni's Fortress, is located about 6 km northwest of the village of Urtsadzor, Ararat province, on the right bank of the Khosrov river, at the northwestern edge of the ancient town site of Urts. The fortress is dated to the 10th–13th centuries.
Also recorded as part of the fortress complex are a 12th–13th-century tombstone bearing a schematic human figure, and the 15th–16th-century tombstone of Tatevos.
Tap Fortress was restored in 2008–2009, together with the church. On December 5, 2024, by decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the "Tap Fortress" historical-cultural reserve was created here, covering an area of 1.4985 hectares.
