Armenia is located in Asia continent, in the Armenian Highlands. It borders on Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, Iran to the south and Azerbaijan to the east.
“Zvartnots” Airport is the main air gate of the Republic of Armenia. It has international standards and considered to be one of the best airports in South Caucasus. The name of the airport comes from early medieval Armenian architectural memorial Zvartnots which is situated near the airport. It annually receives over two million people. The Yerevan Metro is another way in transportation in Yerevan. It was built in 1981 and was named after Karen Demirchian who was famous Armenian Politician and National Hero. The Yerevan metro runs on 13.4 kilometers and has 10 active stations. The entrance is only with "gheton" which costs 100 AMD, you can buy it at every station
Armenia doesn’t have the outlet to the sea; the open borders are only with Georgia in the north and with Iran in the south. The Airport is situated in the west (15km) of Yerevan. So, it takes 20 minutes to get Yerevan. There is a large variety of taxis outside of the terminals, but the Airport has its own Aero Taxi. Buses N.201 and N.108 connect Yerevan with the airport.
Shirak International Airport is the second airport of Armenia. This airport is serving Gyumri and is located in Shirak region. It has everyday regular flights to Moscow, Doni Rostov, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, and Krasnodar.
Yerevan railway station is another way to get Yerevan. It is the central station of Yerevan․ It works in two directions from Yerevan to Georgia and vice versa.
