Armenian Alphabet Monument

  • Artashavan 0211, Aragatsotn Province, Armenia

Just a short drive from Yerevan, the Armenian Alphabet Monument turns language into art. Standing beneath the beautiful slopes of Mount Aragats, you'll find enormous stone letters of the Armenian alphabet scattered across the landscape like a giant outdoor classroom.

Built in 2005 to celebrate the 1,600th anniversary of the Armenian alphabet, the monument honors Mesrop Mashtots, the scholar who created the alphabet in the 5th century. Visitors can walk among the towering letters, take creative photos, and connect with a piece of Armenia's cultural identity.

Whether you're a history lover, a photographer, or simply exploring Armenia, the Armenian Alphabet Monument offers a unique experience where language, history, and nature come together in one unforgettable place.
