Maralik's Holy Mother of God Church is located in the village (town) of Maralik in Shirak Province. According to the inscription above the eastern door, the church was built in 1903. It remained in a half-ruined state for more than 100 years. About 200 years ago, the St. Stepanos Chapel stood on the site.
Like a number of other churches, Maralik's Holy Mother of God Church served as a warehouse during the Soviet years.
The church was fully renovated and reopened in 1994. Following restoration works in 2019, it was reconsecrated by the Primate of the Diocese of Shirak.
