The Talin Caravanserai is located south of the town of Talin, on the left side of the Talin–Dashtadem road, and is the largest caravanserai from the 12th–13th centuries preserved in Armenia.
The complex consists of two three-nave halls — eastern and western — between which a square courtyard was formed.
Arched chambers, where trade was carried out, were arranged around the perimeter of the courtyard, while the eastern and western outer walls were reinforced with defensive towers, with a single guard chamber in the southeastern corner.
The caravanserai served as a stopping point for trading caravans moving in the east–west direction and their pack animals, providing overnight shelter for both people and animals.
The structure is today in a severely ruined state.
