Mendz Er Cave is located in the city of Alaverdi, on the road leading to Sanahin Monastery.
Locals note that the cave also served as shelter for livestock. According to Levon Paranyan, cleanup and renovation work on the cave began in 2000. Years of accumulated soil and manure were removed from the site, and blocked sections were opened up.
The interior exhibit presents traditional Lori daily life, with scenes of spinning thread, grinding grain, and metalworking. A separate section reproduces Alaverdi's blacksmithing past, and a scale model of Sanahin Bridge along with various household objects are also on display.
