Kaputan (Gog) Lake is located in Syunik province, on the crest section of the Zangezur mountain range, about 6–8 km southwest of the town of Kajaran, at an altitude of 3,202 m above sea level. It is the largest glacial-origin lake of the Zangezur mountain range.
The lake was included in the state list of natural monuments in 2008.
The volume of water is about 1.5 million cubic meters, and the maximum depth reaches 22 meters.
