Ttu Jur Mineral Spring

Ttu Jur Mineral Spring

Gavar’s “Ttu Jur” (“Sour Water”) is a natural mineral spring located on the bank of the Gavaraget River, in a recreational area near the city of Gavar. The name “Ttu Jur” is also commonly used to refer to the entire surrounding area.

Gavar’s mineral waters also have a history of industrial use. During the Soviet period, the “Sevan” mineral water bottling plant operated in the city.

The spring produces low-temperature hydrocarbonate-chloride, sodium-magnesium mineral water. It forms within lacustrine sediments covered by basaltic andesite formations. In terms of its therapeutic properties, the water is similar to the mineral waters of Hankavan, Lichk, and Yessentuki. It is used for a range of health conditions, including gastrointestinal disorders and metabolic problems.
