Kotavank, or the Kot Surb Astvatsatsin church, is located in the village of Nerkin Getashen, Gegharkunik province, on the site of the historical settlement of Kot. Kot was once one of the trading junctions on the Dvin–Partav road.
The church was built by Grigor Supan. The walls are of roughly dressed, cracked basalt, with some sections of hewn ashlar. The dome and roof are destroyed. It is a structure with a rectangular cross-arm plan, with semicircular apses in the four corners and two-story side chambers. The church's composition is one of the achievements of the Syunik architectural school.
