ArtCheese is a cheese-tasting hall and bistro in Yelpin village, Vayots Dzor Province, opened on August 22, 2023, by Arthur Nazaryan and his wife Lida Mkrtchyan. It grew out of the "Yerpin" agricultural cooperative, founded in 2017 by five members who originally sold their milk to an outside factory before building their own cheese workshop. The cheese range has since grown from three original varieties — Yelpin, Chanakh, and Lori — to twelve, including a Dutch Gouda-style cheese, made from milk sourced from the cooperative and the surrounding community.
What can you do there: Taste a range of Armenian and Dutch-style cheeses, pair them with local wine and honey, and enjoy them bistro-style on-site.
