The Agarakadzor bridge, also known as the Dadal or Dadalu bridge, is located in Vayots Dzor province, about 2.5 km west of the village of Agarakadzor, on the Arpa river. The bridge's name is probably connected with the name of its patron/sponsor.
The monument is usually dated to the 13th century. The bridge is single-arched and built with lime mortar and light-colored, well-dressed stone. Toothed (jagged) wedge-stones were used in the masonry of the arch. The architect Varazdat Harutyunyan regarded this construction method as a well-known solution in medieval Armenian bridge-building. The bridge's other name, "Sur Kamurj" (Sharp Bridge), comes precisely from the pointed, spear-like shape of its arch.
Over time the bridge deteriorated, after which reinforcement work was carried out in 1985–1986.
