The St. Mary Mother of God Church is located in Aygevan Village, Vedi Community, Ararat Province, Armenia. It is one of the valuable monuments representing the traditional earthen and adobe church architecture of the Ararat Plain. Based on its architectural features, the church is dated to the 18th–19th centuries.
The church is built of sun-dried mud bricks bonded with clay mortar and has a rectangular hall-type layout. It is distinguished by its wooden columns and gable earthen roof, characteristic features of the region's traditional vernacular architecture.
Aygevan Village was founded in 1828 and has borne its current name since 1946. Located in the center of the village, the church is an important part of the community's historical and cultural heritage. Although it is currently in a semi-ruined and structurally unstable condition, it remains a significant witness to the history and cultural identity of Aygevan.
