Yenokavan-Lastiver caves & waterfall hike

This hike follows the Khachaghbyur gorge near the village of Yenokavan in Tavush Province, about 140 km from Yerevan. The name "Lastiver" ("up the raft/dam") refers to a ladder of stacked logs that locals historically built to reach shelter caves in the cliffs — caves once inhabited by hermits and, according to some accounts, used as refuge during the Mongol invasions of the 13th–14th centuries. The trail passes wooden treehouses and ends at a waterfall at the lowest point of the gorge.
What you can do there: hike roughly 7 km through the forested gorge, climb the log ladder to the hermit caves, and optionally ride the zipline strung across the gorge.
