Stop 1.Byurakan Observatory
Byurakan Observatory, founded in 1946 by astrophysicist Viktor Ambartsumian, is Armenia’s leading astronomical research center. Located on the southern slope of Mount Aragats, it is known for discoveries in star formation and galaxies. The observatory houses advanced telescopes and the 2.6-meter telescope, one of the largest in the region. It is both a research hub and a popular site for stargazing.
