“If you pass through Areni, stopping at Arpa Tavern is not a tip, it is a must! Today we had a magical experience: the tavern was all to ourselves and we literally felt at home. The food is simply delicious, authentic and carefully prepared. Special thanks go to the girls: they were very kind, very nice and super welcoming. They made an already great lunch a real experience to remember. Highly recommended! If you are looking for real Armenian cuisine served from the heart, this is the place.”

“We were very pleased with this place in the Arena. The food here is not only delicious, but also prepared with great love. Especially liked that you can taste the best fruit wines of the region - the real pride of Arena. The atmosphere is cozy, family-friendly, with a beautiful environment where you feel at home. The menu is rich in traditional Armenian cuisine: we tasted dolma with matsun, fragrant hashlam and juicy barbecue. Each dish was perfectly prepared and served warmly. Invited me to his families tavern, fed me, and then drove me to the nearby Novarank monastery and showed me around. The food was great but more than that, as the son demonstrated, the family is good hearted, hard working, and genuine. “ArpeNi Tavern is located in Areni village, right on the main road. The place have 2 stories, Vardan, the owner is a nice and very hospitable man. They offer local dishes and soups, along with refreshing and alcoholic drinks. They also produce their own wine and you get a complementary bottle of wine with lunch. The prices are resonable and the quality of food is very good. The interior is all wood and stone, and they have a very intereting collection of fossils. I highly recommend Vardan's place to everybody.”
