“It's beautiful, but the food is really bad. The barbecue was raw, returned, but eventually included. We're not coming here again.”

“It would be easy to miss Vorskan, as it's tucked away off the highway. But it is well worth the stop. We hired a private guide who included Vorskan as a lunch stop on our sightseeing route. We enjoyed it so much, we visited twice! The setting alone is charming, tucked under the trees with a small river rushing alongside. Dining areas are small huts, offering privacy and views of the river and duck ponds. The food is also amazing. Fresh salads, traditional lavash, savory meats. I'm not sure if our guide ordered for us in advance or if they just have a menu-of-the-day. Either way, you won't be disappointed.”

“Great location & food, in little cabins over a pond with ducks. Fish was excellent, however service was much too slow...”

“The BBQs, veggies, salads, breads, Tan all, as well as the river next to the tables and the setting all make the experience of eating there a very enjoyable time. Our server, Narineh, was also very helpful and personable.”

“This restaurant is as unique as they come. It is a series of small cabins (much like tree houses) on stilts over a river and linked by bridges. The bread is all made on site in a tandoor oven. You can go and see it being done but beware it's smoky in there! The waitresses all wear camo jump suits and run around like crazy. The food is amazing. Salad and bread starters with local cheeses. Then we had parcels of goat stew that was so good. Then other meats - the food kept on coming and coming. We had plenty of vodka, red wine, beer and soft drinks. Everything was perfect and I recommend this 100%. I would love to go back.”

“We stopped here in our way to Tatev for a lunch. The place is nice, close to the road and right on riverside. They got no menu, but everything we ordered was fresh and tasty, service was a bit slow though. The view from sitting places was spectacular.”

“The Vorskan Restaurant is on on the edge of the highway, Vayk-Goris 5 kilometers. Maybe hard to find but worth the visit. I've been there 4 times and each time has been memorable. Inside seating, but if the weather is nice sit outside in private open air huts and hear and see the water of the river running by next to you. They have a typical Armenian menu with salads and kabobs, but call ahead to see if they caught wild rabbit. It is exceptional. Cooked slow, tender, tasty, with a sauce to die for. All meals are served with their Vayots Dzor bread "taptan," prepared in a circular vertical bake oven and served hot. A sight to see how it's made. They have a rice dish, don't know what it's called, but it is great. Rice with a tasty sauce, whole roasted garlic cloves, pieces of lamb, herbs.... Don't miss these two items. Oh well also the trout. Tasty and you'll want more. Don't eat much before. Save your appetite! You will not regret visiting this place. Did I say it was beautiful. IMHO, words cannot describe it.”
