“We spent two nights in a room with a view in the main hotel. We got a very warm welcome and some of the staff speak English. The annexe is complete and tour groups overnight there. The main hotel rooms are basic but we were comfortable. A bedside light would have been a bonus. Ear plugs helpful in most rural hotels in Armenia. Stunning view from our balcony. Best of all was the food. With the exception of breakfast, all the food is home-made. We ate one lunch and two dinners. All were utterly delicious. The best quality fresh ingredients, generous proportions. The lamb barbecue was the best we’ve ever eaten. House red perfectly drinkable and very cheap. There’s a gorgeous walk from the hotel along the gorge. Sit and watch the eagles and buzzards soar high in the sky. An added bonus for us was having a few cats to pet.”
